Serna is the captain for this year’s Yorba Linda cross country team. She’s a CIF qualifier in both cross country and track and field. Serna has received the PTSA Academic Mustang Achievement Award, Scholar Athlete Award and earned Principal Honor Roll for three consecutive years. She has accumulated 223 community service hours, including a youth leader at St. Martin de Porres in Yorba Linda. She will soon acquire the Seal of Biliteracy by the state of California for being recognized for being fluent in Spanish. Serna has also been recognized as the Yorba Linda top Mustang Scholar Athlete. Serna is currently enrolled in all AP courses (Environmental Science, Calculus BC, Literature, Government and Economics), bringing her total to 17 AP/Honors course taken in school. She’s interested in UCSD, Washington, Pepperdine, UC Irvine, Cal and UC Santa Cruz.
