In overtime of Segerstrom’s 41-38 win over Westminster on Thursday, Segerstrom’s Gus Guerrero was injured on an incomplete pass and was taken away by ambulance.

Guerrero was taken to UC Irvine Medical Center because he had lost feeling in a leg. Segerstrom athletic director and football assistant coach Nick Canzone this morning said he had visited Guerrero late last night and that Guerrero was able to move his fingers and toes and had regained feeling in the leg.

Canzone said an MRI would be conducted today and doctors said Guerrero was expected to have a full recovery.

Guerrero was Segerstrom’s leading receiver, with three catches for 28 yards. On a fake punt in the first quarter, he threw a 12-yard completion to JC Caravez that kept alive a drive that led to the Jaguars’ first touchdown.
