TOP FIVE PLAYERS TO WATCH

Madison Curry, Santa Margarita: Eagles coach Chuck Morales hailed the sophomore defender as “special.” Curry has expert skills on the ball and was praised for her “dynamite” vision.

Skylar Smith, Tesoro: The junior was second on the Titans with 18 goals last season. She recently took part in the U.S. Under-16 camp, and she will have to take on a bigger role with Ally Cook out of the lineup.

Lauren Brzykcy, San Clemente: The senior was All-CIF and league MVP last season. The UCLA commit was mentioned by several coaches as the best goalkeeper in the county.

Isabella D’Aquila, JSerra: The forward was third in the county last season with 28 goals as a freshman including a hat trick in the playoffs. JSerra will need the U.S. Under-15 forward to continue to develop for its Trinity League hopes.

Haley Hopkins, Mater Dei: The senior forward was All-CIF and Trinity League offensive MVP a season ago. Hopkins is part of an athletic and hungry group for the Monarchs.
