OCVarsity preview for the 2015 season:
WOODBRIDGE WARRIORS
Coach: Rick Gibson
Last season: 7-4 overall; 4-1 in league
Scouting report: This could be an interesting team that Coach Rick Gibson sends onto the field. On one hand, Woodbridge returns just four starters on each side of the ball. However, the Warriors return their top two rushers from last season, Connor McBride and Alex Young, as well as two key receivers, Jared Kalekini and Jack Martine. Junior quarterback Chase Bradley played in a handful of games last season. With the team’s speed at the skill positions, he could put up big numbers. Karstn Graves (79 tackles) and Jalen Gill (52) are two keys to the defense. The inexperience on the line is a problem.
Bottom line: The Warriors should be able to move the ball and score, but their success will ultimately come down to how well they stop the opposition.
Players to watch: Connor McBride, RB, Sr.; Karstn Graves, MLB, Sr.; Kian Heiat, CB, Sr.; Alex Young, WR, Sr.
