Season highlights: Samuelson is the Register’s Player of the Year. Samuelson’s 26.3 points per game broke the Monarchs’ all-time individual points average for a season, previously held by Melody Peterson and Kaleena Mosqueda-Lewis. She scored a season-high 38 against Homewood-Flossmoor of Illinois and was efficient all year, shooting 62 percent from the field, 54 percent from 3-point range and 89.4 percent from the free-throw line. In one of her more impressive games, she dropped 34 points in 23 minutes against Archbishop Williams of Braintree, Mass., in Springfield, Mass.
Season averages: 26.3 points, 9.8 rebounds, 54 percent 3-point field goals.

FIRST TEAM
COCO MILLER
JSerra, Guard, 5-11, Jr.
Season highlights: Miller lifted the Lions to the CIF-Southern Section Division 4AA championship game, scoring 42 percent of her team’s points despite being the focus of every defense. She was named Most Valuable Player of the Vernie Ford Tip-Off Classic at Fullerton, averaging 29.3 points in four games. She scored 20-plus points in 23 of 34 games, including five games of 30 or more. Miller also broke JSerra’s career scoring record this year and made the Trinity League first team for the third year in a row.
Season averages: 22.8 points, 9.9 rebounds, 3.4 steals
JAYLIN JONES
El Dorado, Forward, 5-11, Jr.
Season highlights: Jones won co-MVP of the Century League this year and was an imposing figure inside for Golden Hawks opponents. She scored at least 14 points in every game and cleaned up the boards for El Dorado, averaging 9.1 per game. In the state playoffs, she recorded three consecutive double-doubles, scoring 21 with 14 rebounds in the season-ending, overtime loss to West Torrance in the regional semifinals.
Season averages: 19.5 points, 9.1 rebounds, 2.2 steals
BROOKE SALAS
El Dorado, Guard, 5-10, Jr.
Season highlights: Salas controlled the game all season for El Dorado with her ability to drive, shoot, pass and rebound. She scored 22 points in El Dorado’s win over Brea Olinda, but saved some of her strongest performances for the postseason, including a season-high 35 against Mira Costa of Manhattan Beach and 25 points and 10 rebounds versus Torrance. Salas shot 51.8 percent from the field for the season. Amazingly, Salas and teammate Jaylin Jones scored 667 and 663 points, respectively.
Season averages: 19.6 points, 6.5 rebounds, 4.1 steals
JESSICA DE GREE
San Clemente, Forward, 5-10, Sr.
Season highlights: Not many rebounded better than De Gree this season, who pulled down 12.9 boards per game for the South Coast League champion Tritons. She recorded 23 double-doubles, pulling down a season-high 22 rebounds to go with 33 points against Aliso Niguel. In her second meeting with the Wolverines, she set a San Clemente single-game scoring record with 50 points. She made the all-tournament teams in the South Coast Classic in Irvine and at the Las Vegas Holiday Classic.
Season averages: 23 points, 12.9 rebounds, 86 percent free-throw shooting
