No. 10 Santa Margarita 6, No. 7 Newport Harbor 5: Bella Baia scored two goals, including the winner on a power-play with about 1:25 left, to lead the visiting Eagles (9-9) in a clash of Division 1 teams.

Alexis Kieckhafer added nine saves for Santa Margarita.

“It was a really big win for us,” Santa Margarita coach Brian Weathersby said in a text message. “We are peaking at the right time, with a tough defense and more organized offense. (That’s) great going into the big Trinity League games.”

The Eagles play Mater Dei next week.

Katie Kearns and Claire Tafoya each scored twice for Newport Harbor (7-11). Maddy Kanzler added seven saves.

Royal 14, No. 10 San Clemente 13: Amber McCutcheon scored five goals for the host Tritons against the defending Division 4 champion.

In the Empire League:

Cypress 8, Tustin 5: Sarah Smith scored three goals and Mareena Vivas and Lindsey Mizrahi each scored twice to lead the visiting Centurions (13-9, 2-0).

Kennedy 6, Pacifica 1: Cami Owens made saves to lead the host Fighting Irish (1-1 in league).

In the South Coast League:

No. 6 El Toro 15, Dana Hills 11: Dana Acquah-Asare scored five goals, Jessica Rodriguez collected five assists and Maddy Parenteau added six steals to lead the visiting Chargers (11-5, 4-0).
