The senior safety made a diving interception late in the third quarter that led to the winning touchdown, blocked a field goal and made tackles on special teams to help the Diablos defeat host Vista Murrieta, 21-14, in the CIF-SS West Valley Division final. Schooler also broke up a third-and-18 pass on the Broncos’ final possession, forcing a punt. “He had a fantastic game,” Mission Viejo coach Bob Johnson said of Schooler, who helped slow dangerous returner Kyle Williams.
