Emy Castaneda and Ale Barajas each scored five goals Wednesday to help lead Santa Ana Valley’s girls water polo team past visiting Savanna, 12-8, in an Orange League match for first place.
The victory also helped the Falcons (3-1 in league) recover from consecutive losses in sudden-death overtime to Tustin (finals of the Roy Brown tournament) and Division 7 rival Los Amigos.
Emily Cetin scored four goals for Savanna (2-1 in league).

No. 6 Los Al 15, Huntington Beach 5: Calyssa Toledo scored a season-high four goals goals and added four steals and Sarah Siepker added five goals and six steals to lead the Griffins at Newport Harbor.
