Here is a recap from some tournament action from Saturday

Trabuco Hills won the Andrew Pena Classic, Saturday, finishing with 221 points. Irvine was second with 189.

Both teams had 11 medalists.

The Mustangs had four individual champions: Brian Hernandez (126), Trey Munoz (132), Matt Roxas (138) and Justin Sarabia (145).

Cody Burdette (160) and Andrew Herschberg (220) were both finalists.

Irvine also had final champions: Preston Shepherd (106), Kaiman McCreadie (160), Zeke Alleman (170) and Nuri Ozer (195)

Los Alamitos’ Ethan Bakker (220) was the other county wrestler to capture a title.

At the La Costa Canyon Classic

Esperanza finished seventh in the team standings, with five medalists. Aaron Nagao (106) and Isaiah Mora (138) were finalists at their respective weights. Ethan Gould was third at 120, Joey Mora was fifth at 113 and Joey Brown was fourth at 132.

San Clemente’s Kyle Marshall earned Upper Weight MVP honors. Marshall won three matches by fall and two by decision.

At the Tustin Invitational

Marina finished on top with 167 points. Josh Herrera (120) and John McCoy (145) captured titles for the Vikings.

Westminster (Matthew Nguyen, 106 and Arian Villegas, 220), University (Ethan Maniss, 113 and Jordan Elam, 170), Foothill (Ian Jaramillo, 160 and Kyle Hackett, 132) and Fountain Valley (Merrick O’Donnell, 182 and Trenton Ching, 152) also had multiple champions.

At the Edison Beach Bash

Cypress finished second with 234.5 points. The Centurions had 11 medalists, including three champions.

Devin Daugherty was first at 138, Hothaifa Al-Eid finished first at 195 and heavyweight Tyler Bodholt won his weight class. Monty Jennings was a finalist at 182 pounds.

Huntington Beach had a pair of finalists: Josh Harrison (152) and Jackson Ochling (170).

At Clovis West Shootout

Servite finished fifth at this year’s tournament. The Friars posted 124.5 points. Freshman Joshua Medina won the 126-pound weight class. Troy Madrigal was a finalist at 152 pounds. Levi-Ball-Bryant finished third at heavyweight. Andrew Silva (106), Marcos Polanco (120) and Teddy Okada (132) all finished fourth at their weights.

Brent Reed finished tied for eighth at 145.
