Scouting report: Under first-year coach Dean Toohey, look for the Timberwolves to try to throw the ball a lot. Quarterback Brian Abel has become stronger and more confident, according to Toohey. Sam Aguilar, Jordan Johnston and Michael Bellas, who are all 6-foot-2 or taller, and Andy Clyde are part of a strong group of receivers. The defense will need to be stronger than a year ago for Northwood to make a run at a playoff spot. Toohey said senior defensive end Josh Liu will be one of the best defensive players in the league. Clyde should also be a standout as a free safety in the secondary.
