Scouting report: The Roadrunners haven’t made the playoffs since 2007, but Coach Randy Thompson thinks that is about to end. This year’s team is loaded with seniors who have had success at other levels. Saddleback has seven starters back on offense and six on defense. Daniel Porras (running back) and Bryan Salcido (receiver) figure to see a lot of the ball. Defensively, Chris Rios (middle linebacker) and Antonio Davalos (defensive end) will be key players for the Roadrunners. Thompson said if Saddleback can remain relatively injury free, it could make a major turnaround this season. Is that realistic? Only time will tell.
