Salaam, a senior and varsity co-captain has been making the big plays this year as the goalie for the ninth-ranked Sea Kings.
She became the team’s starting goalie midway through her freshman year.
This year, she has a 64.6 percent save percentage, which is one of the highest in the Pacific Coast League, according to Curtis Jordan, CdM’s assistant coach.
“Zoe’s ability to make critical and outstanding saves is unmatched,” Jordan said. “And she’s at her best when making those saves in the most frantic moments.”
“She is an amazing defensive and team leader,” Corona del Mar coach Aly Vislocky said. “Her positive, competitive energy is contagious.”
