The Foothill boys lacrosse team and Mater Dei girls team received top seeds in the upcoming U.S. Lacrosse Orange County playoffs.

The Knights, who finished the regular season 18-1, will host Yorba Linda in the first round.

The first-round matches for boys and girls are set for Tuesday, followed by the second round on Thursday. The semifinals are May 9 at Mission Viejo High with the O.C. finals set for Wednesday, May 13 at Tustin High.

The winners from the May 13 county championships will face the L.A. champion on May 16 in the Southern Section finals at Mira Costa High of Manhattan Beach.

The entire tournament is single elimination.

Corona del Mar, St. Margaret’s, JSerra, Santa Margarita, Trabuco Hills, San Clemente and Aliso Niguel round out the top eight seeds and will host first-round games Tuesday.

Foothill defeated JSerra in the county finals last year and Palos Verdes in the Southern Section final.

Corona del Mar finished the regular season undefeated (16-0) and appears set on a collision course with Foothill in the county finals. CdM play host to 15th-seeded Huntington Beach in the first round.

On the girls side, top-seeded Monarchs (13-3) will face Laguna Hills, the 16th seed, in the first round.

Foothill, Los Alamitos, Beckman, Aliso Niguel, Corona del Mar, St. Margaret’s and Woodbridge are the other top eight seeds and will host first round games.

Los Alamitos, which has won six consecutive Southern Section and O.C. titles, will host Mission Viejo in the first round. The Griffins defeated Beckman in last year’s county finals and Oak Park in the Southern Section finals.
