There were two upsets in the opening round of the U.S. Lacrosse boys Division 1 South playoffs Tuesday.
In the boys playoffs, top-seeded Corona del Mar was challenged by No. 16 Servite, but the Sea Kings won, 13-10, to move onto the second round Thursday at home against No. 8 Huntington Beach, which defeated No. 9 JSerra, 6-4.
No. 12 Newport Harbor upset No. 5 St. Margaret’s, 8-7, and No. 10 Santa Margarita upset No. 7 Great Oak of Temecula, 7-2.
In the girls playoffs, top-seeded Los Alamitos defeated No. 16 Yorba Linda, 16-1 and moves on to face the Mission Viejo-Aliso Niguel winner in the second round.
