Three Orange County teams are in the CIF Southern California Regionals boys basketball semifinals today.

In Division II, Los Alamitos (25-6) is home against Long Beach Poly (22-10). Also in Division II, Orange Lutheran (23-8) is home against J.W. North of Riverside (29-4).

Los Alamitos was in a regionals semifinal 10 seasons ago. Lutheran is in the regionals semifinals for the first time.

North beat Long Beach Poly in the CIF-Southern Section Division 1AA championship game earlier this month.

North, with veteran coach Mike Bartee, is led by Dikymbe Martin who is averaging 16 points a game. Lutheran’s leaders are Chris Williams (13 points a game), Zac Jervis (13 ppg, eight rebounds), KaVaughn Scott (12 ppg, eight rpg) and Joseph Riley (11 ppg).

Los Alamitos senior guard Eyassu Worku, a UC Irvine signee, is a leading candidate for Orange County player of the year. He is averaging 25 points, seven rebounds and five assists a game. Pepe Garcia is scoring 14 points a game.

Poly 6-foot-6 junior Zafir Willams averages 19 points a game.

In Division V, Saddleback Valley Christian (21-12) is at Rancho Christian of Temecula (22-11). Saddleback Valley Christian was in the regionals semifinals two seasons ago.

Saddleback Valley Christian’s Trey Smith is among CIF-SS leading scorers at 26 points a game. Rancho Christian 6-8 freshman Isiah Mobley is averaging 16 points and 10 rebounds a game.

All games are 7 p.m. except for the North-Orange Lutheran game, which is a 7:30 p.m. game as it is the second-game of a regionals doubleheader at Lutheran (the OLu girls play a regionals Division III game at 6 p.m.). Admission to regionals games are $10 for adults and $5 for students/children, except for the OLu doubleheader for which admission is $11/$6.

Regionals finals are Saturday – Division 2 at Long Beach State Pyramid at noon, Division 5 at Colony High of Ontario at noon.
