Welcome back to OCVarsity On the Record with Brian Whitehead and Damian Calhoun.

This week, the guys react to Wednesday’s announcement of the new Orange County/Inland Empire All-Star football game, and wonder why football season refuses to go away.

Damian breaks down the county’s wrestling landscape, including analysis of Laguna Hills’ 2-0 start in league, whether it’s beneficial for kids to wrestle elite competition week after week. Damian discusses the various postseason strategies coaches have these days.

The guys then talk boys basketball, with Brian beginning the conversation by explaining why Servite’s Asylum is Orange’s County’s best student section (11:25 mark). Damian and Brian figure out what Tustin’s recent win over Foothill means for next week’s OCVarsity top 10, and then predict league winners. Who’ll take the Crestview? The Empire? The Sunset?

Midseason hardware is awarded, also, with the guys naming their Player of the Year, their All-County Team, and their Coach of the Year.

Episode 11 concludes with Brian’s criticisms of his Hoops Show debut, and plenty of Coachella, Rick Ross, Stuart Scott and Oakland Raiders talk.
