Cypress senior Quinten Pounds has been secretive so far about his college commitment, but he plans to share the news Wednesday.

“I made my decision already,” he said after a practice this week. “I know where I’m going but I’m going to keep it quiet until (Wednesday).”

Pounds’ finalists are Boise State, Colorado, Utah and Washington. The 6-foot, 168-pound receiver/cornerback plans to announce his decision Wednesday (update: 6:45 p.m.) in Cypress’ main gym.

Pounds made official recruiting trips to Boise State, Colorado and Washington. Colorado was the first school to offer.

The four finalists have discussed multiple positions with Pounds, but his preference is play cornerback in college.

“I can make all the plays that I make at receiver at corner, and I can help keep the scoreboard low,” he said.

Pounds has made plenty of plays on offense, defense and on returns for Cypress, which entered Friday’s Empire League showdown against Valencia with a 6-1 record overall.

Mater Dei junior outside linebacker Curtis Robinson (6-3, 215) has been offered by Duke, Boston College and Washington, according to Greg Biggins, national recruiting analyst for Fox and Scout.com.

Robinson racked up six total tackles against Servite last week, and he had four tackles and a sack against St. John Bosco on Oct. 10.
