Canyon’s boys basketball team pulled off a come-from-behind victory over Northwood, 73-69, on Tuesday night in a pool-play game of the Canyon/Esperanza Tip-off Classic at Canyon High.

Justin Trias finished with 21 points and made five 3-pointers for the Comanches (1-1). Jordan Holden added 20 points.

Northwood (1-1) bolted to a 21-12 lead at the end of the first quarter behind the play of senior Jake Linksy, who scored 32 points.

The Timberwolves still held the lead, 50-46, at the end of the third quarter. The Comanches, who aided their comeback by making 14 3-pointers, pulled ahead for good in the final three minutes.

In the Godinez Invitational:

Fountain Valley 74, Santa Ana 41: Mike Lightbody made nine 3-pointers and scored 29 points for the Barons (2-1).

In the Diablo Inferno Classic:

San Clemente 94, Eisenhower of Rialto 78: Gage Shelmidine had 36 points, 14 rebounds and eight assists as the Tritons (1-1) picked up a victory at Mission Viejo High.
