Samantha Leyds scored 24 points to lead visiting Mission Viejo to a 56-49 victory over Northwood in a nonleague girls basketball game Wednesday.
The loss snapped a seven-game win streak for the Timberwolves (7-3).
Taylor Loskot added 18 points for Mission Viejo (6-2), which led 28-26 at halftime.
Kaitlyn Hsu led Northwood by scoring 25 points with six 3-pointers.
In the Santa Ana Elks/Billy Tees Classic:
Valencia 50, Canyon 40: Traci Ishii and Vivian Ocampo each scored 14 points to lift the Tigers (3-4) past the Comanches (3-5).
Valenci, which connected on eight 3-pointers, outscored Canyon, 30-19 in the second half.
Sonia Bishara added 10 points for the Tigers.
Shaye Uyematsu and Shayla Cohen led the Comanches with nine points apiece.
Tesoro 47, Pacifica 26: Senior guard Priya Prasad scored a game-high 13 points to power the Titans (5-1) past the Mariners (8-2).
Kasey Smit added eight points for Tesoro, which jumped out to a 31-13 halftime lead.
Binhan Doanvo and Mercedes Robles each had six points for Pacifica.
Cypress 65, Capistrano Valley 28: Lindsay Masukawa scored 14 points and Alison Nelson added 13 for the Centurions in their victory at Segerstrom High.
Bryanna Espiritu led the Cougars with 14 points and three 3-pointers.

Newport Harbor 42, Laguna Beach 37: The visiting Sailors used a fourth-quarter surge to beat the Breakers.
McKenna Izzi scored a game-high 18 points for Newport Harbor, which went into the final quarter tied, 26-26.
Alexandra Lewis led Laguna Beach with 15 points and Sydney DeCarlo added 13.

Brea Olinda 2, Sonora 0: Renae Francis and Madison Yourstone each scored a second-half goals for the visiting Wildcats in a nonleague game.

No. 1 Aliso Niguel 1, Villa Park 0: Annabella Folino contributed a first-half goal as the Wolverines (7-0) triumphed in the pool-play game.
In nonleague girls water polo:
Fullerton 10, Brea Olinda 7: Senior Meredith Morris scored five goals and senior Tessa LaMunyon added three as the Indians (4-3) triumphed over the visiting Wildcats.
Fullerton trailed, 2-1, at the end of the first period, but took control by outscoring Brea Olinda, 6-3, over the next two periods.
Kennedy 16, Rancho Alamitos 5: The Fighting Irish grabbed a 7-1 lead after one period, and went to a lopsided victory as Channon Owens contributed six goals, two assists and seven steals.
Michelle Benitez helped in the winning effort with five goals and two assists.
