Tesoro quarterback Devon Modster, who suffered a shoulder injury Friday in a victory against San Clemente, said he will play this Friday when the Titans (5-1) play host to El Toro (4-2) in the teams’ South Coast League opener.
“Nothing major,” Modster, a senior, said in a message via Twitter on Monday night. “Feeling a lot better. … I’ll play.”
The Arizona commit was expected to undergo a medical exam Monday, Titans coach Matt Poston said over the weekend.
Modster has been one of the county’s top players, completing 67 percent of his passes for 1,798 yards and 12 TDs. He also has rushed for 169 yards and eight TDs.
