The number of college football recruits in Buena Park’s class of 2017 continues to grow.

Add junior linebacker Ronnie Cannon, pictured left, and junior two-way lineman Donnell Kelly, right, to the list of prospects to watch.

Cannon (6-2, 210) and Kelly (6-1, 280) have been offered by NAIA Avila in Kansas City, Mo. while Cannon also has been offered by FCS San Diego.

The duo also is receiving interest from San Jose State and will make an unofficial visist to the Mountain West school next weekend. They also plan camp at San Diego in late June.

Cannon also has received interest from FCS Montana. Kelly is a defensive tackle/offensive guard.

Buena Park coach Anthony White said more than 56 universities and colleges have contacted the Freeway League program this winter.

White said Buena Park takes college recruiting “extremely serious.” He added, “Recruiting is not a game or competition to see who can get the most schools to offer. … Our goal is to set our student-athletes with the school that best suits them.”

Last weekend, Buena Park receiver Taariq Johnson committed to Cal.
