Valencia wrapped up its second Empire League girls golf championship in a row Thursday with a round for the record book.

Brittany Park earned medalist honors in the Tigers’ 219-261 victory against rival Kennedy, shooting a 5-under-par 32, the lowest score by a girls golfer at the country club and for a varsity player at Valencia.

“It was very focused. It was just one of those kind of days,” Park said. “I was in the zone.”

Two of her approaches landed within 4 feet of the pin. She did it on No. 7 and No. 9. Both holes ended with a birdie, the one on No. 7 finishing her stretch of four birdies in a row.

Emily Chao added a 40 for the Tigers (11-0, 8-0).

“We lost some seniors from last year, but the team is still strong,” said Park, whose nine-hole stroke average is 35.8, a little more than a stroke under par. “We have a pretty good chance to be in the top 3 at CIF.”

Park finished with five birdies and no bogeys and needed just 13 putts, including a 30-footer on the sixth hole.
