Santa Margarita junior Beau Hossler won one of the most prestigious American Junior Golf Association tournaments on the schedule, shooting a 7-under 64 in the final round at Longbow Golf Club.

Hossler, the No. 5 player in the nation according to Golfweek, had five birdies Sunday in Mesa, Ariz., and he eagled the par-5 No. 15 to win the Heather Farr Classic by five strokes. He posted rounds of 66, 64 and 68 to finish the 54-hole at 15-under par, a tournament record. He held at least a share of the lead from the opening round, and went on to win his fourth AJGA event.

In the girls division, Lindsay Weaver (Scottsdale, Ariz.) and Brea Olinda freshman Amy Lee tied for first after posting a 7-under par 206. Lee was the 36-hole leader after firing a 68 in the first two rounds of the tournament. On Sunday, though, Weaver set a women’s course record with her 7-under 64 to claim a share of the lead after the final round.

Weaver won the first playoff hole, draining a 3-foot par putt on the par-4 No. 10. Lee took a bogey five.

Blake Barens (Orange Lutheran) and Gordon Neale (Rancho Santa Margarita) both finished tied for fourth in the boys division, finishing with a 7-under 206. In the Girls division, Los Alamitos junior Esther Lee (214) finished tied for fifth and Fountain Valley freshman Lilia Vu, the reigning Register Girls Golf Player of the Year, tied for seventh with a 215.
