Corona del Mar – the county’s top-ranked squad – proved its merit yet again this week when it had three of the final four representatives in the Pacific Coast League individual finals at Woodbridge High.

Sea Kings senior Jasie Dunk knocked off teammate Danielle Willson, 8-7 (7-5), to capture the coveted PCL singles crown.

Camellia Edalat and Brooke Kenerson represented CdM in the doubles final, but the duo was unable to get past University’s Ashlyn Wang and Halla Alajeely, losing to the Trojans tandem 8-3.

First- and second-place finishers in all league individual championships have earned spots in the upcoming CIF-SS individual finals which will begin on Nov. 21.

In the South Coast League:

Dana Hills sophomore Courtney Swift edged out San Clemente’s Lindsay Hung, 7-5, 4-6, 6-3, to capture the league’s singles title.

The Dolphins also sent a pair of teams to the doubles final, where it was the Caroline Halloran-Drae Fresenius tandem knocking off teammates Emilia Gorczyca and Dana Mackensen, 3-6, 6-3, 6-3.

In the Trinity League:

JSerra senior Jadie Acidera took home her third consecutive singles championship with a straight sets victory over Katie Chang (Santa Margarita), 6-1, 6-2. 

Mater Dei’s Natasha Hill and Kathern Nguyen topped Christina Lombardi and Carolyn Nilsen of Santa Margarita, 6-2, 6-0, to win the doubles title.

In the Crestview League:

Villa Park junior Soly Colling continued to dominate the league’s single circuit, notching a 6-3, 6-1, win over Foothill’s Michelle Zell to win her first-ever league crown.

The Spartans made it a clean sweep when sisters Faith and Elizabeth Yim knocked off El Dorado’s Kim Huang and Tina Hasrouni in the doubles final.

In the North Hills League:

Canyon sophomore Kaitlin Chon cruised to a singles championship with a 6-0, 6-2 result over Esperanza’s Shani Yee.

The Comanches would send a pair of teams to the doubles final, where Allison Odegard and Emily Lam topped teammate Lauren Chuang and Katie Huynh, 6-3, 7-5.

In the Sea View League:

Capistrano Valley junior Mary Brascia defeated teammate Elena Wenger, 6-2, 6-0, to take home the singles trophy.  

Tesoro’s Hannah Haas and Emma Whip knocked off Trabuco Hills’ Mallory Doney and Sabrina Roche, 6-2, 6-2, in the doubles final.

In the Academy League:

Michelle Hyun of Whitney High knocked off Sage Hill’s Miya Stauss, 6-0, 6-1, in the singles final.

On the doubles side, St. Margaret’s Elise Talley and Izzy Oedekerk defeated Sage Hill’s Michele Hung and Nicole Condas, 6-4, 6-1.
