Last season: 3-7, 1-3 league
Scouting report: The strength of this team is at running back. Justin Osborn and Nick Watase had prominent roles last year, and Coach Sergio Gradilla said their load will increase this season, making them “the focal point of the offense.” Both players will also see the field on defense, with Osborn at linebacker and Watase at safety. The Heralds have a new quarterback in sophomore Quinn Commans. Although he has limited game experience, Commans has the physical gifts to be successful. He is 6-4, with enough speed to extend plays.
Bottom line: If Osborn and Watase can stay healthy while playing heavy snap counts, the Heralds could be heard from in the Olympic League race.
