CIF-SS GIRLS BASKETBALL FINALS

DIVISION 5AA

Orangewood Academy (26-4) vs. Ribet Academy of Los Angeles (22-9)

Where, when: Godinez High, Saturday, 8:45 p.m.

Fan info: Tickets are $12 general admission, $5 students with valid ID and children (3-13). Parking is free.

Live coverage: FoxSports.com Prep Zone

Outlook: No need to remind Orangewood Academy of Celine Bolton-Ford and Ribet Academy. The Spartans remember all to well the numbers the Fighting Frogs’ 6-foot-2 center put up in last year’s CIF-SS championship game. Bolton-Ford owned the paint last March, scoring a game-high 22 points and pulling down 17 rebounds. Orangewood has revenge on its mind, and it appears to be much better equipped to handle Ribet’s size this go-round. Freshmen forwards Jaqueline Saucedo (6-foot) and Estafania Giner (5-foot-11) give the Spartans two legitimate post players. The duo finished this season one-two in scoring and rebounding for Orangewood, and they’ll need to continue that against Ribet. Don’t expect the stage to overwhelm the Spartans. Orangewood’s four losses were to Orange Lutheran (twice), Windward of Los Angeles and Fairmont Prep – all teams playing in CIF title games.
