No. 1 is one more reason to get excited about the Nike Extravaganza.

USA Today’s national rankings that were released Monday have Oak Hill Academy at No. 1.

The co-ed private school in Mouth Of Wilson, Va., is scheduled to play twice in the Nike Extravaganza at Mater Dei: on Feb. 6 against Sierra Canyon of Chatsworth, and Feb. 7 against Bishop O’Dowd of Oakland.

O’Dowd is No. 1 in CalHiSports.com’s California top 20 and No. 9 in the USA Today national top 25. Sierra Canyon is No. 11 in the national rankings and No. 2 in the state rankings.

Fairfax of Los Angeles, ranked No. 3 in the nation, plays state No. 3 Mater Dei in the Nike Extravaganza on Feb. 7.

Other state top 20 teams in the Nike showcase are No. 7 Centennial of Corona, No. 12 Chino Hills, No. 14 Etiwanda and No. 17 Orange Lutheran.

All-Orange County matchups on Feb. 7 in the Nike event are Servite vs. St. Margaret’s, Los Alamitos vs. Villa Park, Canyon vs. JSerra and Orange Lutheran vs. Sonora.

Tickets for the Nike Extravaganza ($12-$20) are on sale weekdays at the ticket window at the Meruelo Athletic Center on the Mater Dei campus.
