COSTA MESA – Fifth-ranked Orange Lutheran delivered a clinical performance in defeating Cabrillo of Long Beach, 52-8, Friday night in a nonleague game at Orange Coast College.

LJ Northington completed 9 of 10 passes for 189 yards in two quarters of play. Milshon Lathan added 107 yards of total offense for Orange Lutheran.

The Lancers (3-1) delighted the homecoming crowd by scoring touchdowns on five of their six first-half drives, each score from a different Lancer player.

Orange Lutheran got interceptions from Brandon Mckinney, Josh Happ, and Elijah Bynum as the Lancers shut out the Jaguars (0-4), 42-0, in the first half.

Bynum’s 47-yard sprint got Orange Lutheran into the end zone just two plays into the game.

Rushing scores by Northington and Dominik Austin opened up a 21-0 lead for Orange Lutheran to start the second quarter.

The fluidity of the Lancers’ offense put pressure on the Jaguars as Cabrillo gambled on fourth-down plays often. Orange Lutheran forced turnovers on downs on Cabrillo’s first three possessions.

Orange Lutheran had six rushing touchdowns. The Lancers got TD runs from Patrick Reardon (5 yards) and JD PicKell (9 yards) to round out the first half.

Happ returned his interception 52 yards for a touchdown, and Keisean Lucier-South recorded a sack for Orange Lutheran.
