Four Orange County teams will play in the CIF-Southern Section boys basketball Open Division playoffs: Los Alamitos, Mater Dei, Orange Lutheran and Santa Margarita.

The bracket will be released Saturday at 11 a.m.

The plan was for the Open Division bracket to be released today. But games on today's schedule, in both boys and girls basketball, will have impact on seedings and matchups in the Open Division. Thus, the delay of one day.

Los Alamitos won the Sunset League championship, going 10-0 in league.

Mater Dei went 10-0 in the Trinity League to win that league yet again. Orange Lutheran finished second, at 8-2 (its two losses were to Mater Dei). Santa Margarita finished third, at 6-4 (the losses to Mater Dei and Orange Lutheran).

Nine of the 16 teams in the boys Open Division are private schools.

Open Division playoffs begin Friday. The Open Division is like a regular tournament, with a championship half of the bracket and a consolation half. All Open Division teams, no matter what they do in the Open Division, advance to the CIF State tournament that begins with the Southern California Regionals.
