LOARA SAXONS
Coach: Mitch Olson
Last season: 1-9 overall, 1-4 league
Scouting report: Coach Mitch Olson begins his first season with the Saxons, and he brings with him a new offensive coordinator, Ramon Juarez, and defensive coordinator, John Selbe. Juarez and Selbe have served as head coaches and athletic directors at one time during their careers. Selbe most recently served on the coaching staff at Los Alamitos. After the first weeks of training camp, Olson said “all of the young men have been outstanding, and it has been a pleasure coaching them.” The Saxons will be lacking experience – they return only three starters on offense and defense – but Olson said they will make up for that with “great team unity.”
Bottom line: The Saxons probably won’t contend for the league a championship, but under Olson they should be competitive.
