Mater Dei football coach Bruce Rollinson will be honored Wednesday as the Orange County Youth Sports Foundation’s Sportsman of the Year.
Tickets for the dinner at the Island Hotel in Newport Beach are $175 each. The event, which will pay tribute to the longtime coach who has won five CIF-Southern Section titles, is a fundraiser for the OCYSF’s efforts to help young athletes in Orange County.
Some of Rollinson’s former players, such as Matt Barkley and Khaled Holmes, are expected to attend the event that is scheduled to begin with a cocktail reception at 5 p.m., followed by the program at 7 p.m.
