It's time for kickoff: O.C. football gets rolling tonight

Prepare for all of tonight's games with our previews, predictions and more.

OCVarsity.com
A loud roar is hard to ignore, so there shouldn't be any doubt after tonight that the high school football season has started -- really started -- in Orange County.

There has been a sprinkling of games over the past week, but tonight comes loaded with contests. The CIF-SS calls this Week 0, but it's a big night from end of the county to the other with 20 games on the schedule that involve O.C. teams.

Five teams from OCVarsity.com's preseason Top 10 will be making their debuts.

It should be an exciting night, but before it starts you might want to check out Steve Fryer's previews of the top games -- and his fearless predictions for all of the games -- in his first "Frankly Fryer" column of '08.

Also check out our Kickoff '08 preview package, complete with the OCVarsity Top 25, league-by-league previews, the top 5 players to watch this season and much more.

Don't forget about the CIF-SS preseason polls for all of the divisions.

OCVarsity also has stories on Thursday night's two games, and Fryer follows up on top-ranked Mater Dei's victory over Carson and the odd overtime rules in that contest.

So stick around, get ready for the official start of the season, and hang out all night as OCVarsity brings you live score updates, notes and the breaking news from all of the county's games.
