(Updated 11/6/15, 11:00 a.m.: Canyon forfeits win over El Dorado; playoffs unlikely)

A look at the league’s race for its guaranteed playoff spots and the league title.

NORTH HILLS LEAGUE (SOUTHERN DIVISION)

At stake: Top two teams in league are guaranteed a playoff spot in the Southern Division. Two at-large berths are available. El Modena was given an at-large berth in 2014.

Brea Olinda (5-5, 2-1): Based on its head-to-head win over El Modena, the Wildcats enter the postseason as the league’s top representative.

El Modena (6-4, 2-1): By topping El Dorado on Friday, and because Canyon was forced to forfeit a league win, the Vanguards finish as the second place team in the North Hills League.

Canyon (5-5, 1-2): The Comanches handled their business on Friday night, topping Brea Olinda to put itself right back into the at-large conversation. Because the North Hills League coaches have listed Canyon as the league’s third place finisher (despite the forfeit), Mike Ogas’ squad must be considered the top at-large candidate.

El Dorado (1-9, 1-2): The Golden Hawks are out of playoff contention.
