The game has been more entertaining than the score suggests.
We have seen a couple of interceptions, including one by the North’s Deryck Fletcher (Fullerton) at the North goal line. He returned it to the North 31.
North quarterback Scott Lloyd (Fullerton) was getting spun around in the backfield when he heaved the ball backwards. North teammate Nick Lopiccola (Servite) was there to make the catch and he was able to get to the line of scrimmage.
South quarterback Kai Ross (Huntington Beach) has made some nice runs and fine passes, most of them on the move.
Ross threw an interception that was negated by a rouging the passer penalty.
The touchdown was scored by the South’s Jack Bares (Tesoro) when he recovered a North high/mishandled snap in the end zone. Bares has a few tackles, too, from his defensive end position.
