The Aliso Niguel girls volleyball team was pushed to the limit in Thursday’s nonleague match against visiting Beckman.

The Wolverines lost two of the first three sets, but rallied to edge the Patriots in five sets. The scores were 23-25, 25-14, 22-25, 25-16, 15-7.

Kathryn Plummer led the Wolverines with 19 kills. McKenna Ross had 16. Gigi Ruddins added seven.

In other action:

Corona del Mar 3, Marymount 1: Jessie Harris had 22 kills and 12 digs to lead the visiting Sea Kings in a 19-25, 25-12, 25-23, 25-19 victory.

Natalia Bruening had eight kills. Alex Osterberg had eight aces.

Santa Margarita 3, Laguna Beach 0: Haley Carmo and Meghan McClure recorded 11 and nine kills, respectively to lead the Eagles to the 25-18, 25-16, 25-12 victory.

Esperanza 3, Mayfair 1: Gina Lipscomb led the Aztecs with 13 kills and Karissa Davis and Avery Stowell had 10 apiece in the 25-23, 21-25, 25-20, 25-16 victory in the Molten Classic.

Lipscomb also had 10 aces. Jessica Streuer had 42 assists.

Villa Park 3, Campo Verde 1: Emma Calle had 25 kills as the Spartans opened the Molten Classic with a 20-25, 25-20, 25-20, 25-13 victory. Emily Elder had 45 assists.
