Santa Margarita shook off a slow start and pulled away from Servite for a 70-42 victory Friday night in a Trinity League boys basketball game at Servite.

The Eagles led 10-7 after one quarter but opened up a 25-12 halftime margin and essentially put it away with a 26-13 third quarter.

Adrease Jackson led Santa Margarita with 20 points, Jordan Guest scored 13 and Kaden Rasheed 10 for Santa Margarita (14-4, 3-2), tied for the No. 2 spot in this week’s Register top 10.

Devyian Roberson scored 10 points to lead Servite (8-11, 0-5).

In the Sunset League:

Huntington Beach 86, Newport Harbor 75: Hayden Moore poured in 31 points on seven 3-pointers as the Oilers won a shootout at home. Drake Sueda added 14 points and Cade Ortiz 11 for Huntington Beach (14-8, 3-2), which sank 15 3-pointers.

Collin Pipkin and Zach Blaine scored 20 points each for the Sailors (13-9, 2-3).

No. 4 Edison 52, Marina 31: Nate Matthews scored 18 points and the Chargers stayed atop the league standings with a win at home. David Atencio and Randall Walker added nine points each for Edison (17-3, 5-0), which took a 30-12 halftime lead.

Jakob Alamudun scored 10 points for Marina (2-19, 0-5).

In the Sea View League:

San Juan Hills 63, Laguna Hills 46: The Stallions roared back from an 11-point halftime deficit to beat the Hawks and get their first league victory.

San Juan Hills trailed, 30-19, at intermission but woke up with a 44-16 second half. Justin Ewoldt led the Stallions (11-10, 1-2) with 21 points, 12 in the second half, and Alex Ruiz scored 17, with 11 coming after halftime.

Blaine Moss led Laguna Hills (2-20, 0-4) with 12 points.

In the Academy League:

St. Margaret’s 60, Sage Hill 52 (OT): Jay Phansalker scored five points and had two steals in overtime as the Tartans won a second-place showdown at home.

Phansalker finished with 20 points on five 3-pointers and Tyler Horgan also scored 20 points for St. Margaret’s (13-5, 5-1), which took over second place in the league race.

The Tartans trailed, 37-33, going into the fourth quarter but sent it into overtime on Ryan Cragun’s free throw with four seconds left. Max Nanula led Sage Hill (13-5, 4-2) with 18 points.

In nonleague:

Pacifica Christian 84, Cornerstone Christian 40: Freshman guard Dominick Harris scored 38 points and grabbed 13 rebounds to lead the Tritons over the Warriors at Hemet. Timmy Bahador and Cal Whitney added 15 points each and Josh Sims had 10 rebounds for Pacifica Christian, which led, 32-5, after one quarter and 58-17 at halftime.
