Roundup: Northwood, San Juan Hills crash quarterfinals

Two of Orange County's most improved boys water polo programs reached the quarterfinals Thursday night.

Northwood, the top seed in Division 4, defeated Canyon, 12-7, while San Juan Hills rallied to beat Don Lugo, 13-12, in Division 5.

Senior Joe Shaw and junior Collin Press each three goals for Northwood (19-12) while junior goalie Leon Shi added 12 saves.

Six other players scored once apiece for the Timberwolves, who play host to La Quinta of La Quinta on Saturday in the quarterfinals at 2 p.m.

San Juan Hills (16-12) will make its first appearance in the quarterfinals when it plays at fourth-seeded Murrieta Mesa on Saturday at 5 p.m.
