ST. MICHAEL’S PREP ARCHANGELS

Last season: 7-4, 4-1 league
Scouting report: It’s a young roster that will take the field this year. It’s also a hard-working roster. Junior Elliott Simons worked with former USC quarterback John David Booty during the offseason as he prepared to take over as the starter. Simons will attempt to get the ball into the hands of sophomore DJ Mason, who scored six touchdowns last season. St. Michael’s most veteran unit is its offensive line. Senior Matthew Loeffler and junior Orion La Cour were first-team all-league selections a year ago.
Bottom line: St. Michael’s Prep has to grow up fast because its skilled position players have seen limited game action.
