HUNTINGTON BEACH – Ocean View quarterback Blake Meyer threw for four touchdowns Friday night, leading the Seahawks to a nonleague victory over visiting La Quinta, 35-23.

Meyer connected with Dylan Durham on a 7-yard pass on the Seahawks’ first possession, giving Ocean View a 7-0 lead.

After a 25-yard field goal from La Quinta’s Stephen Jaffke early in the second quarter, Ocean View running back Adel Holmes scored from the 2-yard line, making it 14-3 with 8:49 left in the first half.

Shortly afterward, Meyer tossed scoring passes of 58 yards to Xavier Salgado (2:07) and 32 yards to Chase Foreman (1:51) right before the halftime break, giving the Seahawks a 28-3 advantage.

Following the half, La Quinta quarterback Gilbert Napoles connected with Dylan Do for a 20-yard touchdown pass and Victor Garnica bolted into the end zone from 56 yards out to make it 28-16 midway through the third quarter.

Despite the late rally, Meyer threw a second touchdown pass to Salgado, giving the Seahawks (1-2) the 35-16 lead with six minutes left to play.

Meyer finished with 187 passing yards while Foreman had 110 all-purpose yards.
