OCVarsity preview for the 2015 season:
OCEAN VIEW SEAHAWKS
Coach: Luis Nunez
Last season: 7-4 overall, 4-1 league
Scouting report: The Seahawks have an athletic offensive line, tall receivers and a three-year starter at quarterback in Blake Meyer, so putting points on the scoreboard shouldn’t be a problem. Meyer, Nunez said, is getting quite a bit of interests from colleges in the Patriot and Ivy leagues. The returning all-league quaterback threw 15 touchdown passes last season. Nunez said he sees huge potentional in junior running back Adel Holmes, who averaged 10.4 yards per carry last season. The Seahawks have plenty of talent on defense, too, with senior Chandler Willis anchoring the defensive line. Willis will also see some reps at wide receiver.
Bottom line: If the Seahawks live up to the potential they show on paper, this is their league championship to lose.
Players to watch: Adam Meyer, WR, So.; Blake Meyer, QB, Sr.; Chase Forman, WR, Jr.; Adel Holmes, RB, Jr.; Nathaniel Washington, WR, So.; Chandler Willis, DE, Sr.
