McMorris threw a lifetime best 178 feet, 11 inches to place third in the discus at the CIF-SS Masters Meet. McMorris set the Monarchs’ school record with that effort and became the No. 1 thrower in the state and the No. 2 thrower in the country among all sophomores. McMorris also qualified for the CIF State Meet in the shot put.
