On the eve of National Signing Day, Sonora quarterback Cole McDonald (6-4, 195) has committed to Hawaii, the senior announced on Twitter.

McDonald landed the offer Monday night, two days after earning MVP honors in the San gabriel Valley all-star game, ex-Raiders coach Paul Chiotti said Tuesday.

Hawaii also recruited La Habra quarterback Eric Barriere, who is expected to sign with Eastern Washington.

McDonald has considerable physical talents with his size and speed. He also trains with O.C. guru Steve Calhoun.
