The 6-foot-3 junior led the Chargers in points and rebounds in their 63-49 loss to Ayala of Chino Hills in the CIF-SS Division 2AA championship game Saturday. Matthews scored 16 points with seven rebounds for Edison, which was the only Orange County team to play in a CIF-SS boys basketball final. Matthews is averaging 19 points a game.
