Mater Dei could boast one of the best secondaries in Southern California in the fall. One of the big reasons: safety Roman Kafentzis (6-2, 190).

The junior is building momentum thanks to recent offers from Army, Fresno State and Columbia.

Kafentzis was Mater Dei’s ninth-leading tackler last season and also added two interceptions.

In other Mater Dei recruiting news, sophomore wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown (6-0, 175) has  been offered by Stanford while junior outside linebacker Fa’avae Fa’avae (6-1, 210) has added an offer from New Mexico State. Fa’avae holds 11 scholarship offers.

St. Brown also has been offered recently by Michigan State.
