Former Garden Grove football head coach Willy Puga has been hired as offensive coordinator at Los Alamitos, Los Alamitos head coach Ray Fenton announced Thursday.
Puga coached Garden Grove for four seasons, ending with the 2013 season. The Argonauts advanced to CIF-Southern Section championship games in three of Puga’s four seasons as head coach.
POSSIBLE FIELD UPGRADE FOR LA HABRA
Installing artificial turf at the football stadium on the La Habra campus is being discussed at the district level, La Habra athletic director Frank McCarroll confirmed Thursday.
The stadium is the home venue for La Habra and Sonora high schools. It has natural grass which in many seasons is in poor condition by November when fall playoffs begin.
