The 6-1, 195-pound freshman threw for 446 yards and four touchdowns and ran for a game-clinching touchdown in a 49-45 win over Orange Lutheran in the Trinity League opener for both. He completed 19 of 26 passes without an interception. His 2-yard touchdown run with 1:38 left in the game gave Mater Dei a two-touchdown cushion. For the season, Daniels has completed 69 percent of his passes for an average of 293 yards a game with 18 touchdowns and one interception.
