For the second consecutive Trinity League match, the fourth-ranked Mater Dei girls volleyball team went the distance and again the ending was perfect. 

Mater Dei, behind 22 kills and 23 digs from Shannon Scully, defeated top-ranked Santa Margarita, 26-24, 25-23, 21-25, 16-25, 15-9 Thursday.

Rachel Ritchie had 12 kills and 17 digs for the Monarchs (10-2, 3-0). Abbie Cherin and Makena Martin had seven kills apiece. Kelsey Campeau had 26 digs. McKenna Bova and Angela Gutierrez had 29 and 21 assists, respectively.

Meghan McClure led the Eagles (20-2, 1-1) with 30 kills. Haley Carmo added 16. Jane Horner led Santa Margarita with 35 digs, Julianna Reisinger had 25 digs. Devon Chang had 53 assists.

Mater Dei went to five sets against JSerra earlier this week.

Mater Dei visits Santa Margarita, Oct. 27.

No. 6 Orange Lutheran 3, JSerra 1: Kaylie Milton led the host Lancers (21-4, 2-0) with 23 kills and Olivia Root and Jada Northington had 14 and 10, respectively in the 25-22, 24-26, 25-21, 25-22 home victory.

Sydnee Boley had 44 assists. Julia Frederick led the Lancers with 24 digs, Milton had 13.
