Trent McDuffie, a sophomore receiver who was at Mater Dei last school year, transferred to Santa Margarita and was a candidate to be a starter there this season, has enrolled at Servite, Servite coach Scott Meyer confirmed today.

Meyer added, via text message, that McDuffie would have to sit out the first month of this season before becoming athletically eligible at Servite. Student-athletes who do not make a change of residence upon transferring must sit out the first month of their season of sport and the school to which they transferred.

Santa Margarita coach Rich Fisher, when discussing his team’s receivers corps earlier this month, said McDuffie “shows signs of becoming great.”

McDuffie played freshman football at Mater Dei last year.
