SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO – Oscar Gomez rushed for 134 yards and four touchdowns and St. Margaret’s used another dominant defensive effort to remain unbeaten, defeating Crean Lutheran, 49-7, on Friday night at St. Margaret’s.

Gomez, a running back, scored on touchdown runs of 52 and 35 yards in the first half, then added scoring runs of 14 and 7 yards in the second.

Crean Lutheran (5-3, 1-1), which had scored 45 points or more in each of its previous four games had little answer for the Tartans’ defense.

St. Margaret’s (8-0, 3-0) held Crean Lutheran scoreless until the last six minutes of the game, frequently clogging running lanes and breaking up passes.

St. Margaret’s forced three turnovers (two interceptions) and held Crean Lutheran to 99 yards passing and 132 rushing.

St. Margaret’s quarterback George Krantz completed 9 of 14 passes for 188 yards and two touchdowns.
