The senior goalkeeper has had an outstanding season for the Tartans, the No. 3-ranked team in Orange County.
He was one of the key reasons why St. Margaret’s captured the Trinity League title outright with a 10-0 record, according to Coach Gerry Manning.
It was the Tartans fourth consecutive Trinity League title and third outright.
“Jeff is the heart of our defense,” St. Margaret’s assistant coach Bryan Harney said. “He is always calm under pressure, directs traffic in our defensive sets and clears, and is a real leader on the field for us. Part of our defensive look relies on Jeff to make many saves from 15-20 yards out and I think his goals against average (3.27) and save percentage (.720) speaks to our success this year.
“He has been filling that role for our defense for four years now and he has done a great job at it; amassing a career win/loss record of 52-18.”
Askin also has two shutouts for St. Margaret’s. The Tartans (14-2) open the U.S. Lacrosse South Division I playoffs on Thursday.
